MenuPriceToday ("MenuPriceToday", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use menupricetoday.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the rights and choices available to you.

For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), MenuPriceToday is the "data controller" of the personal data processed through the Site. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the Site.

  • Location data — approximate (city-level) location inferred from your IP address and, only with your explicit permission, precise GPS location for the "Near Me" feature. You can revoke location permission at any time in your browser or device settings.
  • Device and technical data — browser type, operating system, language, IP address, device identifiers, and similar diagnostic data.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health, religion, or biometric data) and ask that you do not submit it to us.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its features
  • Send price-alert notifications for items you choose to track, and respond to your requests
  • Personalize your experience and remember your preferences (such as your selected country)
  • Measure and analyze usage so we can improve performance, content, and features
  • Display advertising where advertising is enabled on the Site, including advertising served through third-party networks such as Google AdSense
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis to do so:

  • Consent — where we ask for it, for example when your browser asks permission to share precise location, or when you subscribe to emails or price alerts. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Performance of a contract — to provide an account and the price-alert service you request.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Site, to measure how it is used, and to display advertising, where such interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law and lawful requests from authorities.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data for money. We share personal data only in the limited circumstances below:

  • Service providers — vendors that host the Site, deliver email, and provide analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described under "Cookies & Tracking Technologies"), acting on our instructions under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Advertising partners — networks such as Google AdSense may receive cookie and device data to serve and measure ads. Under some laws (e.g. the California CPRA) this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; see your choices below.
  • Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MenuPriceToday, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and display advertising. The Site currently loads the following third-party services when you visit:

  • Essential storage — needed for the Site to function: your selected country and state, your light or dark theme, and your sign-in session if you have an account. These stay on your device and cannot be switched off in the Site.
  • Google Analytics 4 (Google) — measures page views and how visitors use the Site. It sets cookies and receives device, browser and approximate location data.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) — records interaction data such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and may capture session recordings and heatmaps, to help us find usability problems.
  • Google AdSense (Google) — the AdSense script is loaded on the Site. Where advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may set cookies and use device data to select, serve and measure ads, including personalized ads.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Other third-party ad vendors and ad networks may also place or read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and similar technologies, to measure ad performance and serve relevant ads.

At present the Site does not show a cookie-consent banner, and these services load without a consent prompt. You can block or delete them at any time through your browser settings or a content blocker, use Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (aboutads.info/choices), the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, youronlinechoices.eu or the NAI opt-out page (optout.networkadvertising.org), and Microsoft's privacy dashboard. 6. International Data Transfers

We operate internationally, and your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) or an adequacy decision.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. Account data is retained while your account is active; usage and analytics data are kept for the period set in our analytics providers' retention settings and no longer than necessary; price-alert preferences are retained until you unsubscribe or delete your account. We may retain limited data longer where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

8. Your Rights — EEA & UK (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to processing, including direct marketing and profiling
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority

9. Your Rights — California (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request access to and deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate personal information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of the "sharing" of your information for personalized advertising, adjust your cookie/ad settings as described above and use the advertising opt-outs (Google Ads Settings and the NAI opt-out page). We will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA/CPRA right.

10. Your Rights — Other Regions

Residents of other jurisdictions (for example, Canada, Australia, and certain other countries) may have similar rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to complain to a local regulator. 11. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 in the EEA/UK or under 13 in the United States. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including HTTPS encryption, secured servers, and access controls, to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party websites such as delivery platforms and restaurant sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing them any information.

14. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no agreed industry standard for DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals, but you can control tracking through the cookie and advertising choices described above. We do not currently act on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in the Site's own code; third-party services such as Google may handle it under their own policies.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will indicate material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
